Sulawesi is one of our core sourcing regions, and Southeast Sulawesi in particular is home to a large share of the farming cooperatives we work with directly. It's a useful region to explain in detail, because it shows how our traceability model actually works day to day, not just on paper.
We buy straight from the farmers in this network, cutting out the layers most seaweed changes hands through before reaching a container. Every farm we work with here is mapped, and every harvest gets a farmer ID and a batch record before it moves into drying and sorting.
That direct relationship also runs the other way: our field team provides production guidance and clear SOPs, so farmers know what to grow and how to handle it for export-grade quality — not just what the market will pay for on a given week.
