Eucheuma Cottonii is our highest-volume export species, and South Sulawesi is one of the strongest regions we source it from. The long-line method used here — ropes strung between floating buoys in shallow, current-fed water — is what gives Cottonii from this coastline its consistent kappa-carrageenan yield.
Each line is checked and grown out over a full cycle before harvest. Once cut, the seaweed is graded by our field team at the point of harvest and tagged with a batch ID tied to that farmer and plot — the same record that follows the bag through drying, sorting, and baling.
What buyers usually ask us about first is moisture and impurity control. Cottonii from our network is sun-dried on raised bamboo racks rather than machine-dried, which takes longer but protects gel strength and colour. Every container is then checked against SGS third-party inspection before it ships.
If you're sourcing Cottonii for carrageenan processing and want to see the batch record behind a specific shipment, our export desk can walk you through it.
