SeaweedAsia started with a simple frustration: too many layers between the farmer who grows the seaweed and the buyer who needs it.
Brokers add cost. Middlemen add uncertainty. And somewhere in between, quality control becomes someone else's problem.
Since 2023, we've built something different — an export house that works directly with coastal farming cooperatives across the Indonesian archipelago, from Nias to Papua. No layers, no handoffs. Our own team grades the harvest, runs the lab tests, and manages the container all the way to the port.
That direct model now moves an estimated 50+ containers a year, sourced from 32 cooperatives, to buyers in 5 countries — but the reason for it hasn't changed. Farmers get fair, dependable pricing and a partner who shows up season after season. Manufacturers get seaweed they can trace back to the exact farm bed it grew on.
To become the most trusted name in Indonesian seaweed export — recognized by global manufacturers for consistent quality, and by coastal farming communities for fair, dependable partnership.
To connect Indonesia's coastal farming communities with the world's food, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical manufacturers — building a supply chain where quality is verified, farmers are paid fairly, and every container can be traced back to the water it came from.
Field grading, lab certification, and full traceability on every shipment, with GPS coordinates for every farm site.
Fair pricing for our farming cooperatives, paired with production guidance and clear SOPs so farmers know what to grow and how.
GPS-tagged traceability, digital harvest records, and continuous refinement of our drying and grading methods, so quality control keeps improving as we grow.
Every order runs on a formal contract with clear terms from the start.
QC and lab testing handled entirely by our own team, never outsourced.
We communicate directly in English, Bahasa Indonesia, and Hindi, with no broker in between.
With the farmers who grow every shipment, and full traceability from farm plot to container.
From Sumatra to Papua — every partner region gets mapped as we register it into our traceability network.
Farm locations will be pinned individually as our GPS farm-mapping network expands across the archipelago.
