Sargassum is the one species in our export lineup that isn't line-farmed — it's wild-collected along the coastline, which changes how we think about traceability. There's no single plot or long-line to point to, so tracking has to happen at the point of collection instead.
Interest in Sargassum has been rising from biostimulant and agri-input buyers, drawn to its alginate content. Because it's wild-harvested rather than farmed, volumes can vary more by season than our line-grown species, so we're upfront with buyers about lead time when Sargassum is part of an order.
What doesn't change is the quality chain behind it: collection is logged by our field team, the batch is sun-dried and held to ≤15% moisture at packing, then lab-checked before it's cleared to load. Every container still goes through SGS third-party inspection regardless of species.
If Sargassum is part of a blended order you're planning, it's worth flagging seasonality with our export desk early so we can give you a realistic timeline.
