Farm to Port: What Actually Happens After Baling

Baled seaweed cargo staged for port shipment

Buyers usually ask us about species and quality first, and logistics second — but the shipping leg is where a lot of shipments actually go wrong, so it's worth walking through plainly.

Once a batch is baled to shipping spec, it moves to a consolidation point for a second inspection and lab testing, checked against the original batch record from harvest. This is also where container loading is planned against the buyer's Incoterms — we work on FOB, CFR, or CIF terms depending on what the buyer's logistics setup calls for.

Our standard minimum order is 3 x 40ft HC containers, loaded and shipped via major Indonesian ports. Payment structure is straightforward: 50% advance, with the balance due before shipment.

Every container gets a final SGS third-party inspection before it leaves — not a spot check, every container, every time. That's the step most brokers skip and the one we don't.

If you're planning a first order and want to understand lead times against a specific port and Incoterm, our export desk can map it out for you.
